Directions
The National Aquarium at Baltimore is easily accessible via car, plane, and train. For detailed directions, please select your method of travel.
From New York, New Jersey, and points north via I-95 south:
- Take I-95 south to Baltimore and go through the right tube of the Fort McHenry Tunnel.
- Once through the tunnel, stay in the right lane and take Exit 53, marked Downtown I-395.
- On I-395, stay in the center lane until you come to Pratt Street. Oriole Park at Camden Yards will be on your left.
- Turn right on Pratt Street. The Inner Harbor will be to your right. The Aquarium is 8 blocks on the right.
From Frederick, Maryland and points west:
- Follow I-70 east to I-695 south to I-95 north and take Exit 53, marked Downtown I-395.
- On I-395, stay in the center lane until you come to Pratt Street. Oriole Park at Camden Yards will be on your left.
- Turn right on Pratt Street. The Inner Harbor will be to your right. The Aquarium is 8 blocks on the right.
From Washington, DC and points south via I-95 north:
- Take I-95 north to Baltimore. Take Exit 53, marked Downtown I-395.
- On I-395, stay in the center lane until you come to Pratt Street. Oriole Park at Camden Yards will be on your left.
- Turn right on Pratt Street. The Inner Harbor will be to your right. The Aquarium is 8 blocks on the right.
From Pennsylvania via I-83:
- Take I-83 south to Baltimore. Follow I-83 until the expressway ends in Baltimore City.
- Turn right on Lombard Street and stay in the left lane.
- Turn left at Commerce Street and then left on Pratt Street. The Aquarium is 1 block on the right.
From BWI Airport:
- Take MD-295 Baltimore-Washington Parkway North (Exit 2A). Follow approximately 7 miles.
- Turn right onto West Pratt Street.
- Continue past Baltimore Convention Center, Harborplace, and World Trade Center, all on right. The Aquarium will be on your right, shortly before the ESPN Zone.
The closest airport to the Aquarium is the Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI).
If driving from the airport:
- Take MD-295 Baltimore-Washington Parkway North (Exit 2A). Follow approximately 7 miles.
- Turn right onto West Pratt Street.
- Continue past Baltimore Convention Center, Harborplace, and World Trade Center, all on right. The Aquarium will be on your right, shortly before the ESPN Zone.
There is a shuttle service from BWI airport to the Inner Harbor for $13 per person. Please visit SuperShuttle for more information and to make reservations.
Guests can also take the Maryland Transportation Authority light rail service from BWI to Camden Yards. From Camden Yards, the Aquarium and Inner Harbor Hotels are about a 15-minute walk (~10 blocks). Alternatively, the Charm City Circulator's Orange Route runs from the Camden Yards station stop (Stop #218) to the Aquarium (Stop #221) and Inner Harbor Hotels (Stops #223 & 224).
The Aquarium is approximately 2 miles north of the Baltimore Amtrak Station, located at 1500 North Charles Street, Baltimore, MD. Amtrak is currently offering a special discount for trains to/from Baltimore.
You can easily take a taxi from the train station to the Aquarium. Alternatively, you can hop on the Charm City Cirulator's Purple Route at Penn Station (Stop #311) and get off at the Inner Harbor stop (Stop #319). From there, the Aquarium and Inner Harbor hotels are less than a 5-minute walk.
Parking
Please be aware that the Aquarium does not have any parking facilities, but there is a drop-off loop.
All of the hotels in our hotel block, except for the Country Inn, are within walking distance of the Aquarium. For guests staying at these hotels, please refer to the Hotels page for information regarding parking at each hotel.
For those guests who wish to drive, the closest parking garage is located at the Inner Harbor Garage at 100 S. Gay Street, Baltimore, MD 21202. The Aquarium offers a $3 discount coupon for the Inner Harbor Garage. There is also a second garage located off Gay Street (right after you pass Water Street) that has special weekend rates. We recommend that guests use the Water Street garage, as it is cheaper and only about 1 block further.
Shuttle Service
For guests staying at the Inner Harbor hotels (Homewood Suits, Hilton Garden Inn, and Marriott), there will be a private shuttle service to/from the Aquarium starting at 6pm. The shuttle will stop at each of the hotels and the Aquarium, and run continuously throughout the night until after the reception.
